Jacksonville, FL

Seeing that we are new residents of Jacksonville, we figured we need to do an official post for our new home as well. It’s a growing city, so there are a lot of construction hot spots for new developments. There’s also a variety of areas to spend your time.

Whether you want to spend the day at a popular beach, isolated beach, downtown, small town, or on the water, you can find what you’re looking for. It happens to be the biggest city in the USA by landmass, not population. It’s also strategically placed between other hot areas if you’re willing to drive a few hours; for us that makes it ideal :).

We live in the sleepy town of Atlantic Beach, which is a more isolated beach area, and we prefer that for our day-to-day life. However, we have made our way over to the busy beach of Jax as well; it is just down the street from us and has a pier to fish or check out the surfers. Amelia and St. Augustine are just outside of Jacksonville and they have other beach areas we’ve fell in love with as well.

The downtown scene is a little far from us, but there is a river walk on both sides. You should definitely check out Jacksonville Landing when it reopens and the fountain across the bridge. If you’re looking for a shopping experience, you’ll want make your way to St. Johns Town Center. They have a bunch of upscale and mid-level shops along with delicious food options.

Lastly, when you make your way down to the beaches, make sure you check out the food spots lining Jax, Atlantic, and Neptune. This is our favorite place so far, and it helps that it is around the corner from us. We hope you enjoy our new city!
